The neighborhood of Towndale is located off of 84th street just east of France Avenue in West Bloomington. Towndale is a small neighborhood community featuring a quiet and scenic neighborhood atmosphere. The neighborhood consists of 75 single family homes featuring ranch, rambler, and split level housing styles with prices ranging from $250,000 to $430,000.

Towndale offers easy access to some of the best shopping, dining, and recreational amenities in west Bloomington. Some of the top amenities in the area includes Southtown Shopping Center, Lake Girard Park, Nord Myr Park, and Valley West Shopping Center. Southtown Shopping Center is located just north of Towndale featuring several shopping,dining, and grocery amenities. Some of these include Target, Caribou Coffee, Chick-fil-a, Red Robin, and more.

Residents of Towndale are served by Independent School District 271 also known as Bloomington Public Schools. Bloomington Public Schools is one of the top school districts in the Twin Cities earning state and national recognitions. One of the closest schools to Lake Girard is Washburn Elementary School. Washburn Elementary is an excellent school serving 415 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Other schools in the area include Olsen Elementary and Middle School, Thomas Jefferson High School, and Normandale Community College.
